“I live deliberately. I stand unashamed. And I do not entertain fear.”
Jeannine Colburn
My name is Jeannine Colburn, and like many people, I spent years believing I could handle whatever life brought my way. I was strong, resilient, and used to pushing through. But there came a time when life became heavier than I knew how to carry. I felt overwhelmed, insignificant, and emotionally exhausted.
After more than 25 years in banking management and watching my daughter begin her journey at Marquette University, I made a mistake that would change the trajectory of my life. It cost me more than I ever imagined, but it also forced me to see myself and my life differently.
Somewhere in the middle of it all, I felt a small flicker of faith again. It wasn’t loud or dramatic. It was more like a mustard seed—tiny, but still alive. That small bit of faith gave me hope. And hope gave me something to hold onto.
Over time, I learned that surviving is only part of the story. Life can still hold healing, laughter, growth, purpose, and beautiful new chapters—even after the hard ones. That is why I believe so deeply in hope. Hope doesn’t mean everything is perfect. Sometimes it simply whispers, keep going.
So, wherever life has taken you, never forget your worth. The good, the bad, the beautiful, and even the ugly parts of life all become pieces of the masterpiece. And guess what? You are the masterpiece.

I AM A LIVED
EXPERIENCE EXPERT
I am an expert by experience—a person who has lived with mental health conditions, faced suicidal thoughts, and overcame trauma. My knowledge comes not from textbooks but from the very fabric of my life, woven through my experiences, struggles, and triumphs.
My expertise is as critical as academic credentials. My voice is being heard and also an integral part in shaping policies, creating programs, and delivering services.
Together, as partners, we can bridge the gap between clinical approaches and real-world experiences.
